Placements24 in Benoni is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer specializing in automation to design electrical control systems for automated manufacturing. The role blends office design with remote collaboration to deliver safe and reliable solutions.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to specify components, develop safety circuits, and produce wiring diagrams, BOMs, and manuals. A strong background in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN and PLC/HMI development is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in electrical design for industrial automation.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Experience with PLC programming and HMI development (Siemens, Rockwell).
• Knowledge of Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control panels and schematics for automated machinery using CAD software.
• Select and specify electrical components, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and sensors.
• Develop and implement safety circuits and systems that comply with relevant standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and software developers to ensure seamless system integration.
• Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) and assist with site commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical manuals.
