Placements24 in Nelspruit is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to design, develop and implement control systems for industrial machinery. The role focuses on PLC programming, HMI design and system integration to improve automation, efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical controls engineering and automation.
Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Logix) and HMI software.
Experience with industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profibus/Profinet).
Strong understanding of motor controls, VFDs and servo systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a hybrid team environment.

Responsibilities

Design and implement PLC logic, HMI screens, and SCADA systems for industrial automation.
Specify and select control system components, including sensors, actuators, and drives.
Develop electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for control panels and machinery.
Troubleshoot and commission electrical control systems on-site and provide remote support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define control system requirements and solutions.
Ensure control systems comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
