Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Mpumalanga (Nelspruit) to plan, coordinate, and lead construction projects from initiation to closure. The role balances site visits with office planning, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and high quality standards.

The ideal candidate offers 7+ years in construction PM, strong leadership, stakeholder management, and knowledge of MS Project/Primavera.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
Proven track record of successfully managing diverse construction projects from inception to completion.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
Experience working in a hybrid environment, balancing site and office responsibilities.
Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g., SACPCMP) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Manage and coordinate all site activities, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, negotiation, and contract management.
Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
Liaise effectively with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial objectives are met.
Prepare regular project reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, permits, and legal requirements.
Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project goals.
Resolve conflicts and issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
