Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer in Port Elizabeth to design, deploy, and manage security for cloud environments on AWS and Azure. You will work with development and operations teams to embed best practices across the cloud lifecycle.

The role requires 3–5 years of cloud security experience, with a strong focus on IAM, data security, and threat detection, plus IaC and container security knowledge. A hybrid work arrangement is offered to support flexible work styles.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of cloud security experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, data security, and cloud networking.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and container security.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage security solutions for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Implement and maintain security controls, including IAM, encryption, and network security groups.
• Develop and automate security best practices for cloud deployments (IaC).
• Monitor cloud environments for security threats and respond to incidents effectively.
• Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure cloud application development and deployment.
