Job summary

Placements24 in Polokwane seeks a Cloud Security Engineer to safeguard cloud infrastructure and data across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will design and implement security controls, monitor threats, and respond to incidents.

You will work with DevOps to embed security in the development lifecycle, perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and implement encryption and IAM policies. A hybrid work model is available to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in cloud security engineering or related cybersecurity role.
• Proven experience with security best practices for major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of IAM, network security, and data encryption.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 security frameworks.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security) are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security measures for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and manage security policies, procedures, and standards for cloud deployments.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure for security threats and incidents, and respond promptly.
• Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption solutions.
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to embed security into the development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
