Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Security Architect in Stellenbosch to design and oversee robust security solutions across the organization. You will embed security into architecture from the outset and guide cross-functional teams to protect systems and data.

You will lead threat modeling, evaluate new technologies, and develop standards for cloud, network, and application security. A hybrid work model and executive benefits accompany this strategic role.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in security architecture, design, and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security, application security, and data protection.
• Experience with security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and security compliance.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and threat modeling techniques.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise-wide security architecture aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on security best practices for cloud environments, applications, and infrastructure.
• Develop security standards, patterns, and guidelines for IT projects and solutions.
• Conduct security architecture reviews and threat modeling for new systems and initiatives.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure security requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
