Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in Building Services to join our Soweto team. The role covers design, installation and management of electrical systems for commercial and residential buildings, with a hybrid office/on-site work model.

The candidate will ensure safe, efficient installations meeting standards, while contributing to sustainable built environments in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in building services electrical design.
• Proficiency in CAD software for electrical drafting.
• Good understanding of building codes, standards (e.g., SANS 10142), and safety regulations.
• Experience with lighting design software is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Design electrical systems for buildings (lighting, power, fire alarm).
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and BOQ.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural and mechanical plans.
• Oversee site inspections during installation for quality and compliance.
• Perform electrical load calculations and ensure energy efficiency.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during construction and commissioning.
