Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Systems Integration Engineer in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. The role covers the seamless integration of powertrain, chassis, body, and electrical subsystems with a hybrid working model allowing on-site and remote work.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a relevant engineering field and at least 5 years of automotive systems integration experience, with strong knowledge of vehicle architecture and CAN/LIN/UDS protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automotive/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive systems engineering focusing on integration.
• Proficiency with CAN, LIN and UDS and experience with diagnostic tools and data logging.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage the integration strategy for vehicle systems and subsystems.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for system integration validation.
• Conduct system-level testing and troubleshoot to identify root causes of integration issues.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and software engineers to resolve integration challenges.
• Ensure integrated systems meet performance, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Document integration processes, test results and resolutions for records.
• Analyze system performance data and provide feedback for design improvements.
• Support vehicle development from concept to production launch.
• Stay informed about emerging automotive technologies and best practices.
