Job summary

Communicate Recruitment is seeking an Automation Engineer to contribute to advanced manufacturing operations in Gauteng. The role focuses on design, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.

You will work on integrating electrical control technologies into production lines, collaborating with production managers and R&D teams. The hybrid role allows for focused work at home and essential on-site development and system integration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.
Proven expertise in programming PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric).
Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, control panel design, and wiring standards.
Experience with industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs.
Develop and implement electrical control systems for industrial automation equipment.
Integrate sensors, actuators, and control components into automated systems.
Perform root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize automation processes.
Stay abreast of new automation technologies and implement them where beneficial.
