Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Project Manager to lead cutting-edge agricultural technology projects in Stellenbosch, blending remote and on-site collaboration to advance productivity and sustainability. You will oversee end-to-end delivery, develop plans with budgets and timelines, and coordinate R&D, agronomy, engineering and software teams, as well as manage external partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Technology Management, or a related field.
Master's degree or PMP certification is advantageous.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record in technology-driven projects.
Demonstrated interest and understanding of the agricultural sector and emerging agritech innovations.
Experience managing projects involving hardware, software, data analytics, or IoT applications in an agricultural context.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a Hybrid environment, balancing remote work with on-site collaboration in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, ZA.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Passion for sustainable agriculture and technological innovation.

Responsibilities

Lead the full project lifecycle for agricultural technology innovation projects, from concept to deployment and evaluation.
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including R&D, agronomy, engineering, and software development, to achieve project objectives.
Manage relationships with external partners, research institutions, and technology providers.
Oversee the testing and validation of new agricultural technologies and systems.
Ensure project deliverables meet high standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement timely corrective actions.
Facilitate clear and effective communication among project team members and stakeholders.
Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in agricultural technology and innovation.
Prepare and present project status reports, findings, and recommendations to senior management.
