Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC systems to join our Bloemfontein team. You will design, implement, and maintain HVAC solutions for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring energy efficiency and code compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of HVAC design experience.
• Proficiency with HVAC design software (HAP, TRACE, AutoCAD MEP).
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and building science.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE and SANS standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air filtration solutions.
• Create detailed HVAC system layouts, schematics, and equipment specifications using CAD software.
• Perform load calculations, energy analysis, and system performance simulations to optimize designs.
• Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems.
• Conduct site inspections and commissioning of HVAC systems to verify performance and adherence to design intent.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing HVAC installations.
