Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled HVAC Mechanical Engineer to contribute to building services projects in Upington. You will design, specify, and oversee HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, collaborating with architects and project teams to ensure efficient, reliable HVAC solutions.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of HVAC design experience, proficiency with Revit MEP, Trace 700, and HAP, and strong knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD software and HVAC design/analysis tools (e.g., Revit MEP, Trace 700, HAP).
• Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics related to HVAC.
• Knowledge of building codes and energy efficiency standards.
• Good project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork/piping layouts.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and BoQ for HVAC installations.
• Conduct site visits to monitor installation progress, ensure compliance with design intent, and resolve site queries.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate HVAC designs with other building services (electrical, plumbing).
• Perform energy efficiency analysis and recommend sustainable HVAC solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
