Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated HSE Officer to join a team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations across South Africa’s oil and gas sector.

You will develop and monitor HSE policies, conduct remote risk assessments and audits, investigate incidents, deliver training, maintain records, and advise operational teams on best practices.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as HSE Officer in oil and gas.
• Strong knowledge of SA HSE legislation and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and safety audits for various operational sites and activities.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
• Organize and deliver HSE training programs and awareness campaigns to employees.
• Maintain HSE records and prepare regular performance reports for management.
