Placements24 is seeking a diligent HSE Officer to champion health, safety, and environmental standards across operations in Mahikeng, South Africa. You will develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, conduct risk assessments, and promote a strong safety culture throughout a growing Oil & Gas environment.

The ideal candidate has a relevant HSE qualification, 3+ years of experience, and solid knowledge of SA OHS Act and environmental legislation.

Qualifications

• Relevant diploma or degree in Health, Safety, and Environment or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HSE Officer in the Oil & Gas or industrial sector.
• Knowledge of South African Occupational Health and Safety Act and environmental legislation.
• Experience with risk assessment and incident investigation techniques.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's HSE management system.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE policies and regulations.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Prepare HSE reports and maintain relevant records.
• Advise management on HSE best practices and regulatory changes.
