Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives in the Bloemfontein region. This hybrid role combines site visits with remote administrative duties to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a strong safety culture across our oil and gas operations.

You will develop, implement, and manage HSE policies and procedures to minimize risk and safeguard employees and the environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in HSE management, preferably in oil and gas.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certifications desirable.
• Strong knowledge of SA HSE legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's HSE management system.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors.
• Prepare HSE performance reports and manage regulatory submissions.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders on HSE matters.
