Job summary

SGS is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Specialist to ensure compliance with local and global SGS requirements and to lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSMS activities at the Tokai site. The role involves training staff, conducting audits, and driving HSE improvements across site operations.

The successful candidate will have strong data analysis, document writing, and MS Office skills, with a solid understanding of OHSA 85 of 1993 and a proactive approach to risk

Qualifications

• Experience with Risk Assessments and Incident Investigations.
• Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
• Document and report writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local legal and global SGS requirements.
• Lead and participate in incident investigations and risk assessments.
• Develop and facilitate Hazard Identification and risk assessment processes.
• Train employees and contractors in risk controls and MSDS/HSMS procedures.
• Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits and follow up on corrective actions.
• Support management in communicating HSE requirements and performance to all levels.
• Deploy HSE initiatives and ensure timely KPI reporting and management reviews.
