Job summary

SGS is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional in Tokai, South Africa. The role focuses on establishing and maintaining the HSMS, training staff, and leading risk assessments and incident investigations to ensure a safe workplace for employees and contractors.

You will manage audits, ensure documentation control, and report KPI performance while coordinating with HR for medical surveillance and onboarding. Relocation to Tokai is required.

Qualifications

• Experience on risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
• Microsoft Tools experience – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
• Document and report writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local legal and SGS requirements.
• Establish and maintain HSMS procedures.
• Distribute and implement HSMS documentation.
• Lead incident investigations and risk assessments.
• Train employees and contractors in risk controls.
• Conduct internal and external audits and follow up on actions.
• Prepare management review inputs and reports.
• Promote HS awareness and STOP WORK AUTHORITY.
• Coordinate induction and onboarding for personnel.
• Manage trend analysis and KPI reporting.
• Develop and maintain HSMS communications across levels.
