Job summary

SGS SA is seeking a Site Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Intern to support HSE and quality activities on site in Durban. The role covers inspections, KPI reporting, training scheduling, and documentation to ensure compliance with HSE standards.

The intern will assist with risk assessments, emergency drills, and site inductions, while developing documentation control and records management aligned with SGS procedures.

Qualifications

• Safety-related qualification either completed or in-progress.
• Quality-related qualification either completed or in-progress.
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Practical risk assessment experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Keep the Site supervisor and site personnel aware of all HSE matters.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly HSE inspections and report deviations to the Site Supervisor.
• Implement and submit monthly KPI reports for the site.
• Prepare and conduct the training schedule for the site and training as per schedule.
• Conduct HSE trainings and maintain records, plus toolbox talks and awareness topics.
