IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, invites suitably qualified candidates for a Training & Development Coordinator role to support employee development and compliance with skills development requirements.

The successful candidate will coordinate the annual training plan, manage learner records, and liaise with SETAs and providers to ensure effective training interventions and reporting.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years' experience in Training or Learning and Development
  • Experience coordinating training programmes
  • Knowledge of the Skills Development Act, Skills Development Levies Act and SETA requirements
  • Experience in training administration, learner management and training records
  • Experience coordinating learnerships, internships, bursaries, apprenticeships
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation of the Company's annual training and development plan
  • Identify and consolidate departmental training needs and development requirements
  • Coordinate internal and external training programmes, including schedules, facilitators, venues and service providers
  • Manage learner registration, attendance, progress, assessments and training records
  • Coordinate learnerships, internships, apprenticeships, bursaries and other development programmes
  • Support the preparation and submission of the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Skills Development legislation, SETAs and Company requirements
  • Liaise with training providers, SETAs, line managers and other relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of training interventions
  • Prepare training reports, statistics, dashboards and management presentations
  • Assist with the monitoring and administration of the training budget and expenditure to ensure compliance
  • Maintain accurate training records and supporting documentation for reporting, audits and compliance purposes

Job description

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, implementing and monitoring training and development initiatives to support employee development, organisational capability and compliance with relevant skills development requirements.

  • Grade 12/ Matric Certificate
  • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Development, Human Resources Management, Education and Training or related field.
  • An Occupationally Directed Education, Training and Development Practices (ODETDP) qualification will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Workplace Skills Plans (WSPs) and Annual Training Reports (ATRs) requirements.
  • Knowledge of the mining industry and mining-related training requirements will be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of training needs analysis and competency development.
  • Good report-writing, planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple training programmes and stakeholders engagement simultaneously.
  • Valid Driver’s licence
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' relevant experience in Training, Human Resources Development or Learning and Development.
