Job summary

Skills Connector is seeking an experienced HR and Payroll Manager to join our dynamic team in South Africa. The role combines client payroll administration and internal HR management, ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with labour laws.

You will manage PAYE, UIF, EMP201/EMP501 and COIDA matters, draft contracts, maintain records, develop HR policies, and support staff wellbeing. The position requires self-motivation and the ability to handle multiple deadlines.

Qualifications

• A qualification in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in HR and payroll administration.
• Good knowledge of South African labour legislation, payroll administration, PAYE, UIF, other employee tax requirements and COIDA/Compensation Fund matters.
• Fluency in Afrikaans as well as English.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage clients’ payroll using PaySpace.
• Administer employee tax obligations, including EMP201 returns, EMP501 reconciliations and IRP5 certificates.
• Manage UIF and other statutory registrations, amendments and obligations.
• Handle COIDA and Compensation Fund matters for clients.
• Provide payroll advice and support to clients.
• Manage the complete HR function for internal staff.
• Draft employment contracts and administer and maintain employee records.
• Develop, implement and maintain HR policies and procedures.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding and termination processes.
• Support management with staff-related matters.
• Handle disciplinary processes, grievances and other labour-relations matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable labour legislation.
• Promote positive employee relations and support staff wellbeing.
