Job summary

The Working Earth is seeking an experienced HR leader to drive strategic human resources management in Gauteng. You will partner with senior leadership to align HR with business objectives, oversee recruitment, and lead talent management and employee relations initiatives.

You will manage payroll, benefits, and HR systems while applying strong knowledge of SA labour laws. A track record in financial services is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ HR Generalist experience.
  • Proven experience managing the full HR function.
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience in performance management, recruitment, employee relations, and organisational development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within the Financial Services sector.
  • FAIS and RE-5 qualification.
  • Exposure to payroll, remuneration, HR systems, and HR analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Drive talent management, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives.
  • Support workforce planning and organisational development.
  • Manage disciplinary, grievance, and employee relations matters.
  • Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation, including BCEA, LRA, EEA, and Skills Development legislation.
  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Identify skills gaps and coordinate training interventions.
  • Drive performance management and employee development programmes.
  • Facilitate succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
  • Oversee payroll inputs, remuneration, benefits administration, and HR systems.
  • Monitor and report on HR metrics and workforce trends.
  • Manage HR budgets and support strategic decision-making through people analytics.
