The Working Earth in Johannesburg, South Africa, seeks a seasoned HR Generalist to lead strategy, recruitment, and employee relations across the business. You will partner with leadership to optimize workforce performance and implement people-focused interventions.
You will drive payroll, remuneration, HR analytics, and policy development while ensuring compliance with SA labour legislation and best practices. A strong stakeholder network and leadership presence are essential.
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives. Partner with leadership to drive organisational performance and workforce effectiveness. Provide expert HR advice and support to management.
Oversee recruitment and selection processes. Drive talent management, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives. Support workforce planning and organisational development.
Manage disciplinary, grievance, and employee relations matters. Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation, including BCEA, LRA, EEA, and Skills Development legislation. Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures.
Identify skills gaps and coordinate training interventions. Drive performance management and employee development programmes. Facilitate succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
Oversee payroll inputs, remuneration, benefits administration, and HR systems. Monitor and report on HR metrics and workforce trends. Manage HR budgets and support strategic decision-making through people analytics.
Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years' HR Generalist experience. Proven experience managing the full HR function. Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices. Experience in performance management, recruitment, employee relations, and organisational development. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience within the Financial Services sector. FAIS and RE-5 qualification. Exposure to payroll, remuneration, HR systems, and HR analytics.
