Job summary

CVQuest is seeking an experienced HR Manager in Maitland (Cape Town) to lead the workforce with strong leadership and labour-law expertise. The role covers the full HR remit from planning to recruitment, warnings, and CCMA representation.

Requirements include Grade 12 and a HR qualification (NQF6), plus at least 5 years of relevant experience and excellent English/Afrikaans communication. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum, with a Diploma/Higher Certificate in HR Management (NQF6).
• Minimum 5 years’ HR management experience.
• Strong knowledge of SA labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, etc.).
• Proven track record in managing 100+ staff.
• Excellent English and Afrikaans communication; leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct full recruitment cycle from adverts to background checks.
• Manage onboarding, contracts, and exit interviews.
• Oversee HR administration, payroll, leave, and personnel files.
• Support industrial relations: hearings, grievances, and compliance.
• Assist managers with performance evaluations and improvement plans.
• Produce monthly HR reports on turnover and attendance.

Our expanding client in Maitland (Cape Town) is looking for an HR Manager with strong leadership qualities to oversee and manage their workforce.

The successful candidate will be a South African male with a Human Resource qualification coupled with at least 5 years’ relevant experience and in-depth knowledge of labour legislation and capable of handling the full human resource spec from resource planning to recruitment to warnings to CCMA representation.

Responsibilities:

• Recruitment and Selection: Full cycle from adverts to interviews and background checks
• Onboarding and Exit Management: Contracts, orientation and exit interviews
• HR Administration & Payroll: Payroll processing, leave management and personnel files
• Industrial Relations and Compliance: Support hearings, grievances and ensure MCEA / LRA / EE compliance
• Performance Management: Assist Managers with evaluations and improvement plans
• Reporting: Monthly HR reports on staff turnover, absenteeism and HR metrics

Working Hours:

• Monday - Saturday: 06:00 - 15:00
• Saturday: 06:00 - 10:00

Salary:

• R17,000 - R22,000
