Job summary

On Line Personnel is seeking a hands-on HR/IR Manager to operate in a fast-paced logistics environment. This role covers on-the-ground HR/IR tasks, including discipline, grievances and performance management, with a strong emphasis on operational realities.

The successful candidate will need an HR qualification, 360° HR/IR experience, and the ability to handle pressure while maintaining fairness and compliance with policies and CCMA expectations.

Qualifications

• Relevant HR Degree / Diploma essential.
• Proven 360° HR/IR experience across the full HR function.
• Resilient and emotionally mature, with the ability to handle pressure and confrontation.
• Firm, fair and decisive and able to make difficult decisions when required.
• Excellent knowledge of HR legislation, policies and procedures.
• Experienced in disciplinary hearings, grievances, absenteeism, misconduct, performance management and employee relations with proven experience at CCMA.
• Strong recruitment, onboarding, performance management and general HR administration capability (attention to detail and accuracy).
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English, with Afrikaans essential due to the predominantly Afrikaans-speaking workforce.
• A strong personality who can command respect without creating unnecessary conflict.

• Provide hands-on HR/IR leadership in a hard-core operational/logistics environment.
• Manage disciplinary actions, grievances, terminations and performance management on the floor.

An opportunity for a strong, hands-on HR/IR individual who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding and highly operational environment.

This is not a corporate, desk-bound HR position. Our client operates within a tough logistics environment where HR is firmly on the ground, dealing with people, performance, discipline and IR matters on a daily basis.

The successful candidate needs to be resilient, decisive, thick-skinned and comfortable handling difficult situations, including disciplinary action, grievances, conflict and terminations.

THIS ROLE WILL SUIT SOMEONE WHO:

Is not easily intimidated, does not shy away from difficult conversations and understands that effective HR in a hard-core operational environment sometimes means making unpopular decisions.

If you are looking for a comfortable 9-to-5 corporate HR environment, this will not be the right fit.
