Job summary

Oxford University Press in Cape Town is seeking a motivated HR Intern for a fixed-term 12-month role. You will gain experience across recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, training coordination and engagement initiatives.

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will support with job postings, interviews, inductions, data accuracy, and HR projects while developing strong organisational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in HR Management or equivalent.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Full competence with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Access to reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment process, including posting job adverts, screening resumes, telephonic interviews and scheduling interviews.
• Support onboarding and induction programs for all new joiners and training initiatives.
• Help maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy.
• Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve workplace culture and employee engagement.
• Provide administrative support to the HR team and contribute to team meetings.
