Job summary

Wits Health Consortium is seeking an HR Generalist to advise on HR policies and to support induction, recruitment, benefits and payroll administration. The role involves guiding line managers on HR activities, facilitating performance management and disciplinary processes, and coordinating training needs.

The incumbent will manage onboarding, contract settlements and timely HR documentation while partnering with senior HR leadership across hospital sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a full HR Generalist role.
• Valid driver's license with own vehicle; travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Advise on and implement HR policies and administer induction, recruitment, benefits and related tasks.
• Support line managers with HR activities—policies, terms of employment, grievances and performance management.
• Facilitate performance management, probation and counselling for poor performance.
• Conduct disciplinary investigations with senior HR leadership.
• Identify training needs in collaboration with the Divisional HR Manager.
• Process and capture new, temporary employees, transfers, promotions and terminations for payroll.
• Coordinate induction and orientation for new staff; generate HR administration on deadlines.
