Job summary

MyCareerCraft in Franschhoek, South Africa is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist with payroll responsibility to join our team. You will manage fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles, ensure accurate reconciliations, and handle statutory submissions, while supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee relations across the business.

We value a warm, people-first approach and relevant payroll qualifications; experience with BCEA, PAYE, UIF, COIDA and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in a generalist HR role with payroll accountability
• Payroll qualification and/or solid payroll experience
• Warm, patient, people-first personality
• Knowledge of BCEA, PAYE, UIF and COIDA
• Hospitality or service-industry background is a plus
• SDF certification is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Payroll: Run fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles incl. overtime, tips, commission, leave, deductions, new starters, promotions and exits
• Payroll: Keep reconciliations, control accounts, salary journals and reporting airtight
• Payroll: Handle SARS submissions and related statutory submissions (SARS, UIF and COIDA)
• HR: Own recruitment and onboarding end to end
• HR: Support managers with employee relations, discipline, performance management and probation
• HR: Maintain records, ESS and pension fund admin with strong data integrity
• HR: Drive performance management, training, wellness and engagement initiatives
• HR: Compile HR and payroll reports and support audits and HR projects
