Qualifications

  • A relevant degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Experience in recruitment, employee relations and performance management.
  • Proven experience representing an organisation at the CCMA with knowledge of conciliation and arbitration.
  • Strong understanding of South African labour laws (LRA and BCEA) and HR best practices.
  • Experience in HR business partnering, advising line managers on people decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in conflict resolution and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes.
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • Implement HR policies to ensure compliance.
  • Serve as point of contact for employee queries.
  • Drive performance management including goal setting and reviews.
  • Manage employee relations, including disciplinary hearings.
  • Represent the company at CCMA as required.
  • Act as HR business partner to line managers.
  • Assist in training program development and delivery.
  • Analyse performance metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Facilitate employee engagement and promote a positive culture.
  • Support payroll with benefits administration and regulatory compliance.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated HR Consultant to join our team, focusing on essential human resources functions that support our organisational goals. You will play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, performance management and ensuring compliance with HR policies, fostering a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process
  • Conduct employee onboarding and orientation to integrate new hires smoothly into the company culture
  • Implement HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with relevant legislation
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee queries, addressing concerns related to policies, benefits and workplace issues
  • Drive performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance reviews and development plans
  • Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary hearings, grievances and dispute resolution, ensuring fair and consistent application of policy
  • Represent the company at the CCMA where required
  • Act as a strategic HR business partner to line managers and department heads
  • Assist in the development and execution of training programs aimed at employee growth and development
  • Analyse employee performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate employee engagement activities and promote a positive organisational culture
  • Support the payroll team with benefits administration, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with relevant regulations
CANDIDATE PROFILE Qualifications & Experience
  • A relevant degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Demonstrable experience in a human resources role, with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, and performance management
  • Proven experience representing an organisation at the CCMA, with sound knowledge of conciliation and arbitration processes
  • Strong understanding of South African labour laws (including the LRA and BCEA) and HR best practices
  • Experience in an HR business partnering capacity, with the ability to advise and influence line managers on people-related decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Proven track record in conflict resolution and problem-solving within a workplace setting
