Job summary

MyCareerCraft is seeking a hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor for a hospitality property in Paarl. You will oversee guest lodges, public areas and laundry, ensuring operations run smoothly and to brand standards.

You will lead, coach and train housekeeping staff, perform regular inspections, manage stock and reporting, and respond promptly to guest needs and complaints while maintaining a professional team culture.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years housekeeping management experience in hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day housekeeping department in line with standards.
• Inspect laundry, public areas, and lodges regularly.
• Manage, support, and guide housekeeping staff.
• Brief team at each shift with duties and updates.
• Set appearance, hygiene, and professional standards.
• Ensure guest lodges/public areas are guest-ready.
• Report maintenance/repair issues and follow up.
• Coach and train staff on the job.
• Maintain a positive, courteous, professional attitude.
• Anticipate and respond to guest needs quickly.
• Resolve guest complaints promptly and escalate when needed.
• Conduct monthly linen and consumable stock takes.
• Maintain linen/stock records.

Are you a hands‑on housekeeping leader who takes pride in spotless lodges and a well‑run team? We're recruiting on behalf of a hospitality establishment looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to keep their guest lodges, public areas, and laundry running like clockwork.

What you'll need:

• Grade 12
• 2–3 years' housekeeping management experience (or similar) within hospitality is preferred
• A natural ability to lead, coordinate, and motivate a team
• Strong communication skills
• Self-discipline and a good eye for detail
• A hands‑on, lead‑by‑example approach

What you'll be doing:

• Overseeing the day‑to‑day running of the housekeeping department in line with company standards
• Conducting regular inspections of laundry, public areas, and lodges
• Managing, supporting, and guiding housekeeping staff
• Briefing the team at the start of each shift on duties and departmental updates
• Setting the standard for appearance, hygiene, and professionalism in uniform and conduct
• Making sure guest lodges and public areas are always guest‑ready — clean, hygienic, and well‑presented
• Reporting maintenance and repair issues and following up to ensure they're actioned
• Coaching and training staff on the job to keep skills sharp
• Keeping a positive, courteous, and professional attitude at all times
• Anticipating and responding to guest needs quickly and efficiently
• Resolving guest complaints promptly and escalating where needed
