Job summary

The President Hotel in Bantry Bay, Cape Town, seeks a skilled Hotel Spa Therapist with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in facials, massages and body treatments. Join our luxury spa team to deliver personalised wellness experiences, consult with guests, and upsell treatments and products.

Role requires Matric and CIDESCO/ITEC or equivalent qualification, strong guest service, and ability to work shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12) required.
• Spa or Beauty Therapy qualification – CIDESCO, ITEC or equivalent essential.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in facials, massages and body treatments – essential.
• Previous experience in a luxury spa, 4- or 5-star hotel environment advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of professional facial treatments and skincare.
• Confident in massage therapies (relaxation, deep tissue, aromatherapy).
• Experience in body treatments (scrubs, wraps, etc.).
• Ability to upsell treatments and retail products.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong spa hygiene and treatment room standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional facials, massages and body treatments according to spa standards.
• Consult with guests to understand needs and preferences.
• Tailor treatments to create personalised wellness experiences.
• Perform a range of massage therapies including relaxation and aromatherapy.
• Deliver facial treatments using appropriate products, techniques and protocols.
• Perform body scrubs, wraps and other treatments from the spa menu.
• Provide warm, attentive and professional service throughout the guest journey.
• Recommend additional treatments and suitable retail products.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain immaculate, guest-ready spaces.
• Follow all spa hygiene, safety and health procedures.
• Maintain professional grooming standards at all times.
• Collaborate with Spa and Hotel teams to ensure seamless experiences.

We’re looking for a skilled and guest-focused Hotel Spa Therapist with a minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience in facials, massages and body treatments to join our wellness team.

• Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience in facials, massages and body treatments – essential and non-negotiable


• Previous experience within a luxury spa, 4-star or 5-star hotel environment highly advantageous


• Strong practical knowledge of professional facial treatments and skincare


• Confident in performing a range of massage therapies, including relaxation, deep tissue and aromatherapy


• Experience performing body treatments, including scrubs, wraps and other spa therapies


• Strong guest consultation skills with the ability to recommend appropriate treatments


• Confident in retail product recommendations and treatment upselling


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


• Strong understanding of spa hygiene, sanitation and treatment-room standards


• Professional, well-groomed and guest-focused


• Ability to create a calm, welcoming and personalised experience for every guest


• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays


• Valid South African ID


• A fully updated CV with a professional, recent profile image and contactable reference details is essential

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering professional facials, massages and body treatments according to spa standards


• Consulting with guests to understand their needs, preferences and treatment requirements


• Tailoring treatments to create personalised and memorable wellness experiences


• Performing a range of massage therapies, including relaxation, deep tissue and aromatherapy treatments


• Delivering professional facial treatments using appropriate products, techniques and protocols


• Performing body scrubs, wraps and other treatments according to the spa menu


• Providing warm, attentive and professional service throughout the guest journey


• Confidently recommending additional treatments and suitable retail products to enhance the guest experience


• Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring they remain immaculate, organised and guest-ready


• Following all spa hygiene, sanitation, health and safety procedures


• Maintaining professional treatment and grooming standards at all times


• Working closely with the wider Spa and Hotel team to deliver seamless guest experiences
