Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Machinery Mechanic or Technician.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, power tools, and hand tools specific to heavy machinery repair.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Experience with major brands of agricultural and construction equipment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for working with heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing on heavy machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Repair and replace worn or defective parts, ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
• Service and repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, and hydraulic components.
• Read and interpret repair manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently, adhering to workshop and site safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities performed.
• Keep the workshop area clean and organized.
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to ensure machinery is functioning correctly and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to urgent repair requests to minimize operational delays in Mahikeng and surrounding areas.
