Job summary

SkillsMap seeks a Heat Presser to oversee and coordinate the operations of heat press machines in the department. You will ensure materials are used efficiently, targets are met, and quality standards are upheld.

The role requires English communication, willingness to work overtime and shifts, and a focus on safety. This is a permanent position within the Digital Transfer unit in Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position and environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Must be prepared to work overtime / weekends / shifts in accordance with operational requirement

Responsibilities

• Operate heat press machinery in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality and quantity standards.
• Ensure correct materials are used and wastage is minimised.
• Regularly operate heat press machines and monitor performance.
• Maintain above-average quality to minimise costly rework.
• Maintain production rates according to defined targets and deadlines.
• Cooperate with other departments as needed and follow safety policies.

Job Description

Job Purpose

To oversee and coordinate the operations of the heat press machines in the department.

Key Performance Areas

• Operate printing equipment in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
• Meet daily production targets ensuring that quality and quantity standards are met.
• Ensure that correct materials are used effectively, and that wastage is minimized as far as possible.
• Effectively operate Heat Press machines.
• Regularly check, improve and maintain above average quality standards to minimise costly rework.
• Maintain production rates according to defined targets and deadlines.
• Assist in other positions and departments in accordance with operational requirements.
• Ensure that all tasks are executed in a safe manner with due regard for Amrod’s policies and procedures, regulations specific to the use of equipment and products, and regulations prescribed by the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Report unsafe acts / working conditions / injury on duty to the supervisor / manager immediately.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards.

Job Requirements

Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required
