Job summary

Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking a proactive production support role to assist in corrugated board printing and finishing. You will mentor the machine crew, ensure product quality, and maintain safety and housekeeping standards.

The ideal candidate will have Grade 12 and a relevant qualification in corrugated printing, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work across shifts to maintain productivity.

Responsibilities

• Support the machine operator to ensure efficient corrugated board printing and finishing with high quality, productivity, safety and housekeeping.
• Assist with machine setup according to best operating practices.
• Support feedback processes when required and during production runs to maximize productivity.
• Monitor product quality and report deviations during production.
• Operate competently in the operator's absence.
• Follow supervisor instructions and maintain ISO procedures.
• Motivate, organize and mentor machine crew members.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the machine operator to support the efficient running of corrugated board printing and finishing equipment, while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, safety and housekeeping

• Assist the machine operator with machine set-up according to best operating practices

• Assist with Abaca and Shopware feedback when required

• Support the operator during production runs to achieve maximum productivity

• Monitor product quality throughout the production process and report any deviations

• Operate the machine at an acceptable level of competence in the absence of the operator

• Follow all reasonable instructions from the supervisor

• Motivate, organize and mentor members of the machine crew

• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the department

• Ensure that ISO procedures and principles are followed

• Be proactive and participate in initiatives aimed at improving machine availability and productivity
