Assistant Operator (Corrugated Printing Machine)

Our client in the printing industry is seeking reliable and hands‑on Printer Assistants to support machine operations within a fast‑paced production environment.

Location: Port Elizabeth

Job Type: Contract role, on site

Responsibilities

• Assist the operator with machine set‑up in line with best operating practices
• Support production during runs to ensure optimal productivity
• Monitor print quality and report any deviations to the operator
• Provide input and feedback on systems such as Abaca & Shopware (when applicable)
• Operate the machine at a basic competence level in the operator’s absence
• Follow instructions from the supervisor and support overall production targets
• Assist in motivating and coordinating the machine crew
• Maintain high housekeeping standards at all times
• Ensure compliance with ISO procedures and safety standards
• Contribute to improving machine availability and efficiency

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Trade Qualification in Corrugated Board Printing and Finishing Machine Minding advantageous
• Basic computer literacy (essential)
• Understanding of ink viscosity and colour matching
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime
