Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Head Coach to lead a Rugby Academy in George, Western Cape. You will shape the development of young athletes, implement training programs, and establish a winning culture based on discipline and sportsmanship.

You will scout, recruit, and mentor players, oversee coaching staff, manage budgets and logistics, and collaborate with schools to track academic progress while pushing for excellence on and off the field.

Qualifications

• Extensive coaching experience at academy/high-performance level.
• Deep understanding of rugby tactics and player development.
• Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
• Ability to recruit and develop young talent.
• Coaching certifications and passion for youth development.
• Experience managing budgets and team operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive training programs and strategies for the rugby academy team.
• Scout and recruit talented student-athletes, assessing their potential and ensuring a strong talent pipeline.
• Provide expert coaching, technical guidance, and tactical instruction to players at all levels.
• Foster a positive team environment that promotes discipline, teamwork, and respect.
• Monitor player academic progress and personal development, collaborating with educational staff as needed.
• Manage team logistics, including travel, equipment, and scheduling of matches and tournaments.
