Our client, a premier outdoor adventure and recreation center located in the bustling area of Randburg , Gauteng, is looking for a highly organized and experienced Head of Operations. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational efficiency and safety of all adventure activities, facilities, and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, risk assessment, staff supervision, and customer experience within the adventure or leisure industry. You will ensure that all operations in Randburg are conducted to the highest safety standards while maximizing guest satisfaction and operational profitability. We seek a decisive leader who can manage multiple facets of a busy adventure operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all daily operational activities, including adventure activities, facility maintenance, and customer service.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, risk management procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of operational staff.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of the operation.
• Manage inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring proper maintenance and replacement schedules.
• Monitor operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Enhance the customer experience by ensuring seamless service delivery and prompt resolution of issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience in operations management, preferably within the adventure tourism, outdoor recreation, or leisure industry, ideally in the Randburg area or surrounds.
• Demonstrated knowledge of risk management and safety compliance in an operational setting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in supervising diverse operational teams.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in budget management and cost control.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing operational procedures.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle guest feedback effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Relevant certifications in first aid, safety management, or adventure guiding are a plus.
