Job summary

Authentic Life Connections seeks an experienced Group Financial Manager to own multi-entity consolidations in a multi-currency environment. You will direct IFRS-compliant close processes, drive KPI analytics for EXCO, and lead the preparation of critical group financial statements and audits.

The role demands a CA(SA) with 6+ years post-articles experience and proven ability to challenge auditors and management with robust, data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) fully qualified and eligible to practise.
• Minimum 6 years post-articles experience, including at least 3 years at group level.
• Hands-on ownership of group consolidations in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
• Strong IFRS depth and ability to challenge external auditors.
• Owned KPI framework and scenario/what-if modelling built from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Run group consolidations across entities, including intercompany eliminations and currency translation.
• Set and enforce the group close timetable and keep finance teams on track.
• Build consolidated financial statements and defend line by line.
• Lead EXCO pack preparation and support annual financial statements and audits.
• Develop and maintain KPI framework used by board and EXCO.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Run the group's monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation across every entity, handling intercompany eliminations, currency translation, deferred tax and minority interests along the way.
• Set and enforce the group close timetable, keeping entity finance teams on track to hit it.
• Build a consolidated income statement, balance sheet and cash flow you can defend line by line, to anyone who asks.
• Compile the group management pack EXCO relies on each month, and play a lead role in the annual financial statements and audit under full IFRS.
• Define and maintain the KPI framework the board and EXCO use to track the business.
• Get under the skin of each business unit's and region's management accounts, question what doesn't look right, and push entity teams for real answers.
• Explain the "why" behind every material variance, not just the number.
• Model scenarios and what-ifs that feed directly into planning, refinancing and investment calls.
• Take ownership of the group's chart of accounts and how consistently it's applied across entities, and tighten up the control environment so less gets fixed by hand.
• Represent the CFO on group reporting matters with entity finance leads, auditors and, when needed, financiers.
• Grow and eventually lead a group reporting team, with a shot at running finance for a new business unit as the group expands.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• CA(SA), fully qualified.
• A minimum of 6 years' post-articles experience, including at least 3 years operating at group level.
• Hands-on experience owning, not just reviewing, group consolidations in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
• Strong technical IFRS depth, with the confidence to hold your own on technical positions with external auditors.
• Demonstrated ownership of a KPI framework and scenario/what-if modelling, built from scratch rather than inherited.
• Previous experience in a Group Financial Manager or Group Accountant role.
• The gravitas to present to EXCO and to review and constructively challenge entity finance managers.
• Advantageous: exposure to manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, or other multi-site operational environments; experience transitioning entities from IFRS for SMEs to full IFRS; advanced Excel and comfort with consolidation/reporting tooling; experience supporting refinancing or transactions.

Remuneration

R1300 000 to R1400 000 per annum, cost to company.
