Job summary

Time Personnel in the Durbanville area seeks a Lodge Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at Cape Village Lodge, manage guest bookings, ensure smooth check-ins/outs and maintain a personalised 4-star guest experience.

You will supervise housekeeping, monitor stock and purchasing, coordinate maintenance, handle guest queries and emergencies, and work with the team to uphold cleanliness, presentation and outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• 3-5 years experience in guest house, hotel, lodge, or hospitality management.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Hands-on, reliable, organised and able to work independently.
• Experience supervising a small team.
• Good understanding of Booking.com and other online booking platforms.
• Proficient with administration, payments, invoices, stock control and basic financial records.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
• Able to deal confidently and professionally with guest complaints, difficult situations and emergencies.
• Computer literate, with good working knowledge of email, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and booking systems.
• Must have reliable transport, particularly for after-hours check-ins.
• Must be flexible to work occasional evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Must be comfortable being contactable after hours for urgent guest or property-related matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of Cape Village Lodge.
• Manage guest bookings, check-ins, check-outs and guest communication.
• Ensure a professional, friendly and personalised 4-star guest experience.
• Supervise housekeeping and ensure rooms and public areas meet required standards.
• Monitor and manage lodge stock, supplies and purchasing.
• Coordinate maintenance, repairs, garden and general property upkeep.
• Supervise staff, allocate duties and ensure procedures are followed.
• Manage lodge administration, payments, invoices and daily records.
• Monitor Booking.com and other booking platforms, including guest reviews.
• Handle guest queries, complaints and emergencies professionally.
