Job summary

Karen Tupper Recruitment is seeking an experienced Hotel Operations Manager to oversee daily hotel functions and uphold high service standards in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. You will manage reservations, guest enquiries and online platforms, while guiding a small team to ensure smooth operations.

You will lead front-of-house activities, coordinate conferencing, and maintain strong guest relations, ensuring that check-ins/outs and housekeeping meet the hotel’s quality requirements.

Qualifications

• SA Citizen with Matric / Grade 12 and South African work authorization.
• Minimum 5 years in hospitality, guest house, or hotel operations.
• Experience in supervisory or management role.
• Full computer literacy and experience with booking and admin systems.
• Knowledge of NightsBridge and online platforms such as Apply Below and Expedia.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily hotel operations and ensure service and presentation standards.
• Handle administration, reservations, guest enquiries and bookings.
• Oversee online booking platforms and ensure efficient channel management.
• Utilise NightsBridge for bookings and reporting.
• Supervise breakfast service and guest relations to ensure high-quality service.
• Coordinate conferencing and meeting room arrangements.
• Support housekeeping and lead a small team.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness and upkeep.
• Manage arrivals and departures, including check-ins/outs.
• Build positive guest relationships and resolve enquiries and complaints professionally.
• Maintain records and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
