Placements24 is seeking a Front Desk Manager for a prestigious Sandton hotel. This role oversees guest reception and service operations, setting the tone for exceptional experiences and supervising a diverse team in a hybrid on-site/strategic capacity.

You will train staff, manage reservations, coordinate with housekeeping and F&B, and prepare routine reports. The position emphasizes leadership, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence in a high-end environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Front Desk Manager or in a similar senior supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
• Excellent knowledge of hotel management software (PMS systems) and reservation systems.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the front desk team, including check-in/check-out procedures, guest inquiries, and concierge services.
• Train, motivate, and supervise front desk staff, ensuring adherence to hotel standards and service excellence.
• Develop and implement efficient operational procedures to enhance guest satisfaction and staff productivity.
• Manage guest feedback and resolve complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues as necessary.
• Oversee room inventory, reservations, and coordinate with other hotel departments (housekeeping, maintenance, F&B) to ensure guest comfort.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on front desk performance and occupancy rates.
• Ensure the front desk area is well-maintained, organized, and presents a welcoming atmosphere.
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and manage petty cash responsibly.
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams on promotions and packages.
