Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to manage and maintain a fleet of airport equipment in Port Elizabeth. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth and safe airport operations by keeping GSE in optimal condition.

You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on baggage tractors, belt loaders, tow tractors, and aircraft stairs, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably with heavy machinery or automotive repair.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various GSE.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components of GSE.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure safety standards.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimize operational impact.
