Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician in Polokwane to maintain the fleet of ground support vehicles and equipment used for aircraft operations. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on GSE such as tugs and loaders.
The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience, reads technical manuals, and prioritizes safety and quality in a dynamic airport
Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology or related field.
- 2–3 years' experience maintaining/heavy equipment or GSE.
- Proficiency diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality in Polokwane.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections and servicing on GSE.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures to minimize downtime.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, parts used and repairs.
- Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
- Operate GSE safely for testing and minor adjustments.
