Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to maintain a fleet of critical ground support machinery at Nelspruit airport. You will service tow tractors, belt loaders, and aircraft stairs, ensuring safe and efficient aircraft turnarounds.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, diagnostic ability, and a commitment to operational efficiency in a busy airport environment in Nelspruit.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a GSE technician or similar mechanical maintenance role.
Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic equipment.
A valid driver's license is required.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment at Nelspruit airport.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various types of GSE.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in GSE and implement effective solutions.
Maintain accurate service records and report on the condition of equipment.
Ensure all GSE is operated and maintained in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies for GSE maintenance.
