Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to maintain the fleet at Mossel Bay airport. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on baggage tractors, belt loaders, aircraft stairs, and pushback tractors, ensuring safe and reliable airport operations.

The role requires hands-on mechanics with experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, reading manuals and schematics, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic or technician, with specific experience working on GSE or heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic readouts.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
• Ensure all GSE operates safely and in compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed.
