Job summary

Recruitment Insured in Durban is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join its commercial team. You will independently manage, retain and grow a portfolio of commercial clients, along with related personal lines business, and bring in new business.

This is a client-facing role requiring a proven broker who builds trusted client relationships, gives sound, compliant advice and delivers consistent results.

Qualifications

• Must be fully FAIS compliant - RE and recognised short-term insurance qualification.
• Up-to-date Product Specific Training and COB for Commercial and Personal Lines.
• Up-to-date CPD compliance.
• Min 5 years' experience in commercial short-term insurance in a broker environment.
• Min 3 years experience as an Account Executive or in a similar client-facing commercial broking role, independently managing a client portfolio.
• Demonstrable, verifiable track record of meeting new business targets and of servicing, retaining and growing a commercial client portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Manage, service and retain an allocated portfolio of commercial clients and related personal lines business.
• Build strong client relationships through regular engagements and renewal reviews.
• Handle renewals, policy amendments and queries, and support clients on claims.
• Identify coverage gaps and emerging risks, and recommend tailored solutions to grow the portfolio.
• Generate and convert new business through prospecting, referrals and networking.
• Work with Insurers and underwriters to obtain competitive quotations and suitable cover.
