Be Different in Midrand is seeking a commercially astute, hands-on Venue Manager to run the venue as their own business, delivering revenue growth while maintaining operational standards and team productivity.

You will lead sales to schools, corporates, and groups, manage finances with the on-site accountant, own booking, POS and CRM systems, and build a high-performing team with weekend and holiday availability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing a business unit with P&L responsibility.
• 2+ years as the no.1 on site.
• Provable revenue growth with concrete figures and references.
• Personal B2B sales experience: corporate/school contracts.
• Led teams of 15+ (direct and indirect), including dismissals.
• Financially literate: reads P&L and cash flow; understands VAT, debtors/creditors.
• Hands-on owner of booking / POS / CRM systems.
• Available on weekends, school holidays and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sales first: leads the sales team to schools, corporates, birthday parties, groups, partnerships; sets targets and can coach others to close deals.
• Money and administration: works with the accountant on payables, debtors, cash flow, VAT, banking.
• Systems: owns online booking, POS, CRM, gateways and keeps them working.
• People: sets tasks with deadlines, hires/dismisses; Venue Manager reports to General Manager.
• Problem: identifies risks before they become fires (seasonal dips, equipment downtime, key-staff departures, cash gaps).
