Job summary

Village n Life seeks an experienced Group Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function across its hotels and hospitality businesses. This senior, hands-on role requires managing HR across multiple properties and navigating seven-day operations in hospitality.

You will partner with senior leadership to implement compliant, commercially sound HR practices group-wide, develop the HR team, and drive talent, payroll and labour-cost strategies. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources Management.
• Minimum 7 years’ progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR management or senior HR leadership role.
• HR management experience across multiple hotels or hospitality properties is essential.
• Hospitality or hotel-group HR experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation including LRA, BCEA, EEA and Skills Development legislation.
• Experience with employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievances and CCMA matters.
• Experience across recruitment, retention, workforce planning, performance management and training.
• Experience with Employment Equity, Skills Development and statutory HR reporting.

Village n Life is looking for an experienced Group Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function across our portfolio of hotels and hospitality businesses.

This is a senior, hands‑on role for an established hospitality HR professional who has already managed the HR function across multiple properties and understands the operational and people complexities that come with a seven‑day hospitality business.

The Role

Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you will take responsibility for consistent, commercially sound and legally compliant HR practices across the group.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Performance management and career development
• Training and skills development

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management
• Minimum 7 years’ progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR management or senior HR leadership role
• Proven HR management experience across multiple hotels or hospitality properties – essential
• Hospitality or hotel-group HR experience – essential
• Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation including the LRA, BCEA, EEA and Skills Development legislation
• Proven experience in employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievances and CCMA matters
• Experience across recruitment, retention, workforce planning, performance management and training
• Experience with Employment Equity, Skills Development and statutory HR reporting

• Experience managing and developing an HR team
• Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to advise senior leaders
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable transport and the ability to travel between properties
