Job summary

Exceed HR and Recruitment in Stellenbosch seeks a Group Financial Manager to lead the group’s financial control, reporting, risk management and financing activities.

The role requires a CA(SA) or CIMA qualification, 10+ years in financial management, experience in commodity trading, and strong IFRS knowledge. You will oversee month-end, consolidations, budgeting and strategic planning, while developing the finance team and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification.
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant financial management experience.
• Experience in commodity trading, risk management, treasury or group finance.
• Experience with SAFEX, futures contracts and hedging instruments.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, management accounting and financial analysis.
• Experience with inventory valuations and working capital management.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• ERP and trading system experience.
• Strong analytical, leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Group’s financial control, reporting, risk management and financing activities.
• Oversee accurate month-end and annual financial reporting and group consolidations.
• Analyse trading profitability, margins, variances and overall financial performance.
• Monitor commodity risk, hedging activities, inventory valuations and working capital.
• Prepare financial reports and strategic insights for EXCO and the Board.
• Ensure strong internal controls, governance and compliance with IFRS and Group policies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
• Drive process improvements and digitalisation across the finance function.
