Job summary

University of Fort Hare is seeking a Group Financial Manager to lead the trading group's financial control, reporting, risk management, and financing activities in a commodity trading environment.

The incumbent will provide independent review, challenge, and analysis of results, market risks, financing structures, and group performance prior to submission to the Executive Committee and the Board.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA(SA) or CIMA (CGMA) qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant financial management experience.
• Experience in grain or agricultural commodity trading and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial function of the trading group and ensure timely reporting.
• Review and consolidate financial results across entities.
• Ensure IFRS compliance and strong internal controls.
• Analyze margins, risks, and trading performance for strategic input.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Oversee risk management, hedging, and treasury activities.
