You will collaborate with grid operators, asset managers, and engineering teams, prepare technical reports, and monitor performance to identify improvements, supporting a stable, reliable power supply for the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in power system analysis, grid operations, or grid integration.
Strong understanding of grid codes, power flow, fault analysis, and stability studies.
Experience with simulation software such as PSS/E, PowerFactory DIgSILENT, ETAP.
Familiarity with the South African electricity market and regulatory framework.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for hybrid work environments.

Responsibilities

Analyze grid impact studies for the connection of new generation facilities, including renewable energy sources.
Develop and implement strategies and technical solutions for grid stabilization and management.
Ensure compliance with grid codes, standards, and regulatory requirements from entities like NERSA.
Collaborate with grid operators, generation asset managers, and engineering teams on integration challenges.
Prepare technical reports, specifications, and recommendations for grid enhancement projects.
Monitor grid performance and identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
